BIOGRAPHICAL BRIEF

Joan Glacken is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies. She earned an Ed.M. and an Ed.D. in Health Professions Education with a minor concentration in Educational Statistics and Measurement from The Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Dr. Glacken attended Douglass College in New Jersey, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. Past employment experiences include serving as supervisor at AccuMed Diagnostic Laboratory, an independent medical laboratory in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and adjunct faculty positions at Rutgers University's Graduate School of Education and the Physician's Assistant Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She is an associate member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologist, NJ Society of Allied Health Professionals, Epsilon Pi Tau, and Omicron Tau Theta. Her hometown is Sayreville, New Jersey and she came to FGCU as a founding faculty member on December 9, 1996.  Her husband, Dave Glacken, is a sergeant with the FGCU police department (so don't speed on campus).
