Daniel J. Borgia, Ph.D.


Daniel J. Borgia, Ph.D. is a founding faculty member of Florida Gulf Coast University and a 2002 - 2003 China Fulbright Scholar at Nanjing University. He has been teaching and consulting in the field of finance since 1986. In 1995, Dr. Borgia received the Teaching Incentive Program Award from the State of Florida in recognition of his excellence and innovation in teaching. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Cornell University in 1981, and his Ph.D. in Finance from Kent State University in 1991. Dr. Borgia has a broad publication record, writing on topics such as regional economic development issues, business exporting, entrepreneurship, regional unemployment, third world capital market development, the impact on economic development resulting from tax law changes, business and personal financial planning, and financial education. In 1999, Dr. Borgia received the "Distinguished Research Award" at the Allied Academies National Conference for his research on entrepreneurial learning habits. Dr. Borgia is a popular news media spokesperson on topics such as the economy, the stock market and personal financial planning.
