Visual system

We are interested in understanding the information processing performed by biological sensory systems. We take a machine learning approach, where the goal of experiments is to estimate and compare computational models of sensory processing. I am currently working on the problem of how the early visual system combines multiple visual cues to detect boundaries between image regions. I am also interested in developing active machine learning methods for fast data collection in neurophysiology and psychophysics experiments.
