B.S. (1984) in Aerospace Engineering from the University
of Florida.
M.S. (1988) and Ph.D. (1996) in Physics from the University
of California, San Diego with specialization in High
Energy Astrophysics.
After receiving my B.S. degree, I worked for two years (1984-86) as an engineer at General Dynamics Space Systems Division in San Diego, CA. Following this, I attended UCSD studying physics as an undergraduate for one year before being admitted into the Physics Graduate Program. My thesis work and current research are in the study of X-ray and Gamma-ray Astrophysics. Areas in which I am involved include the following: Galactic Positrons, Diffuse Galactic Emission, and High Resolution Gamma-ray Detector Instrumentation and Development. Prior to my work at Florida Gulf Coast University, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor (1994-97) at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the Physics (and Mathematics) Department(s).
